Stölln is home to the oldest airfield in the world. The small town in Havelland close to Berlin is closely connected with the history of aviation. Here Otto Lilienthal carried out his pioneering flight experiments between 1893 and 1896. The German engineer studied the flight of storks and then built his first flying models.
