On my trip to Salzburg in Summer 2020 I had the chance to play on the pianos of #openpianoforrefugees. Here it’s me playing the wonderful main song of the movie „Amelie“ by Composer Yann Tiersen („Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain“).

Open Piano for Refugees places freely accessible pianos in public places. They connect people of all backgrounds through music and collect donations for their social music institute DoReMi. Playing one of my favourite songs from Yann Tiersen called „Summer 78“, the main theme from the successful German movie „Good Bye, Lenin!“ (2003). What a masterpiece! Yann Tiersen is also the man who composed the movie soundtrack for Amélie. I like his music.

It was a very special moment to perform this song live on the Red Piano in the centre of my hometown Berlin at Potsdamer Platz – Sony Center. I hope the people there enjoyed it as much as I did. ?
