Public ABBA Violin Girl meets Piano Boy at Leipziger Tastentage

In Leipzig, I met this year this wonderful lady Janina Karl. For a short piano and violin session at public piano event and music festival „Leipziger Tastentage“. 🎹🎻
But normally she’s playing clarinet. ♥︎
And in general, playing so much instruments (incredible!) and studying music at the university ‚HTM Leipzig – Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy‘.

We found a piano and played for you a very famous song by @OfficialABBA:
„Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)“.

Letzte Ausfahrt der S-Bahn Baureihe BR 485 – Verabschiedung. Mach’s gut!

Am 12. November 2023 war es nun soweit:
Die legendäre Baureihe BR 485 noch aus DDR-Zeiten der @sbahnberlin und @DBPersonenverkehr tritt zu ihrer allerletzten Fahrt an. Nach 35 Jahren Einsatzzeit.

Es war ein wunderschöner Abschiedstag mit einem nochmal großartigen, ausgestatteten Fahrtenprogramm durch Berlin inklusive der Berliner Ringbahn.

Am Bahnhof Berlin-Schöneweide trafen sich die beiden letzten noch im Einsatz befindlichen Zügen zu einem Spalier.

Von 1987 bis 2023 war diese Baureihe durchgehend im Einsatz. Ein Baumusterzug wurde schon 1979 in Dienst gestellt. Es war jedenfalls ein kleiner Stolz der DRR, für die Berliner S-Bahn neue Züge zu entwickeln, die man hier nach dem Kriegsende immer noch so dringend benötigte.

Danke an alle, die das möglich gemacht haben und vielen, sehr vielen Leuten heute nochmal einen ganz besonders schönen Tag bescherten!

S-Bahn-Konzert mit Thomas Krüger zur
Verabschiedung der S-Bahn-Baureihe BR 485 🚆

Viele, die mich kennen, wissen, dass ich leidenschaftlicher Eisenbahn-Fan bin. Seit meiner tiefsten Kindheit schon! Und vor allem großer Fan der Berliner S-Bahn und dessen gesamten Infrastruktur- sowie Verkehrssystem. Daher bin ich selber auch ehrenamtlich aktiv und Mitglied im Verein @historisches-bahn-e.v.. 💚
Insbesondere historische und eben ältere und vor allem noch ältere fahrende Züge im Netz haben es mir angetan. So auch bei der noch in diesen letzten Tagen verkehrenden Berliner S-Bahn-Baureihe der @sbahnberlin GmbH: die noch in der DDR gebaute Baureihe BR 485. Die von ihren Fans auch liebevoll „Coladose“ genannt wird, durch ihren Wagenkasten aus Aluminium (ähnlich wie bei einer Coladose eben), aber noch viel mehr aufgrund ihrer vergangenen anthrazit-roten Farbgebung, die sie noch bis 2008 hatte und die stark nach der eines Brauseherstellers glich.

Eben jene Baureihe BR 485 (ET 270) wird am 12. November zu ihrem letzten Dienst hier in Berlin antreten zu einer dann nochmal großen Sternfahrt auf mehreren Streckenästen, wo sie vormals ihre Haupteinsatzzeit über 35 Jahre verbracht hat. Und weil ich viele viele Jahre in diesen Zügen verbracht habe und unterwegs war, mit ihr zu Auftritten gefahren bin – denn ich vorwiegend alles mit der Bahn und dem ÖPNV erledige – wollte ich mich mit meinem ersten und auch letzten S-Bahn-Konzert in diesen Fahrzeugen ganz persönlich verabschieden. ♥︎
Danke für viele Begegnungen und schöne Stunden in diesen Zügen, die hier in Berlin von 1987 bis 2023 verkehrten und ihre Dienste leisteten. Ein Triebwagen (Kopf des Zuges) wird dem Verein ‚Historische S-Bahn e.V.‘ erhalten bleiben. Ein weiterer steht schon im @DeutschesTechnikmuseum und wird dort in Zukunft in die Ausstellung integriert und dort zu sehen sein.

Am 12. November findet nun die Verabschiedung mit einer Abschiedsveranstaltung statt. Ab diesem Tag werden die letzten Züge ausgemustert und leider verschrottet. Sie sind dann nicht mehr im S-Bahnnetz anzutreffen und durch neuere Bahnen ersetzt.

Hello guys.
I was from October, 3th to 13th in the holy land of Israel 🇮🇱 and Palestine 🇵🇸.

Exactly in this moment and days, where the war starts and the terror organisation Hamas did the terrible attack to kill a lot of people in Israel and a music festival with a lot of young people.

But also, I found in these days a lot of nice free open and public pianos here. First day after the terror attack (October, 7th) I had such a wonderful walk on October, 8th through the old city of Jerusalem and also East-Jerusalem on the famous Mount of Olives.

There was a little church. ⛪️
The Catholic „Dominus Flevit Church“ where we get in and look: there was an E-Piano. So I started to play with a guy who played there before. Torbjørn Lending.

Together we played „Time“ from the movie Inception, composed by Hans Zimmer. And afterwards I played Hallelujah. And then… all the guests here sang this song with me. ❤️

Maybe you saw also my last published videos from Israel in this time. 🎹

Hope for better times.
And that all sides of the religious disputers can live one day in harmony and peace. 🌎

Back in Israel and Palestine! 🇮🇱 🇵🇸
It’s my third time here. 🌎

Maybe you saw my last video from last week here in Tel Aviv. Now, the situation has unfortunately changed dramatically for the worse. Israel and Palestine cannot get their decades-simmering conflict under control. Which is very, very sad for all people in the region here and in the Middle East and constantly leads to senseless deaths on both sides. With this piano improvisation I would like to give everyone a little bit of hope and courage that at some point both sides can live together peacefully here. 🕍 🕌 ⛪️

I’m fine, I’m actually still here in Israel. In Jerusalem currently. Found this grand piano in the train station ‚Yerushalayim/Yits’hak Navon‘.
