With my friend and pianist colleague Simon Kirkils | @piano-simon I visited Latvia 🇱🇻 and Riga in summer 2023. We visited also a concert from Richard Clayderman | @RichardClaydermanOfficial himself in the beach town Jūrmala, where he played in the beautiful concert location „Dzintaru konzertzāle“ | @dzintarukoncertzale1936.

After the concert we saw this grand piano in a coffee shop there and asked for playing a little bit. So we did, and played also the famous „Ballade pour Adeline“. 😊

KLING KLANG | Piano Acoustic Cover

Zusammen mit der Künstlerin, Sängerin sowie vor allem Singer-Songwriterin Isa Jansen | @isajansen7764 hatten wir die Idee, mal ein paar deutsche Coversongs aufzunehmen und für euch live zu performen. Hier hat es einen sehr bekannten Song einer Band erwischt, die ihre musikalischen Ursprünge in der DDR hat, und damit mitunter auch dem Ostrock entstammt, obgleich die Texte der Band oft sehr poetisch und mitfühlend sind, ja auch teils einen intellektuellen Anspruch haben. Wir haben ihren größten und bekanntesten Erfolg gecovert. Es geht um die Band Keimzeit | @keimzeit2783 mit ihrem Titel: „Kling Klang“.

Daher, dass auch wir beide eine Art der Ostsozialisation erfahren haben, weil unsere Familien und Eltern von dort stammen, haben wir einen ganz besonderen Bezug zur ‚Musik des Ostens‘ und deren Künstler und Bands, weil wir uns darüber hinaus auch viel mit ihnen auseinandergesetzt haben und teilweise auch persönlich kennen. 🎹🎤

Diese Woche war ich nun wiederholt zu Gast bei meinen Freunden und Kollegen des Podcasts „Regenbogen-Gespräche“. 🏳️‍🌈
Nach meinem letzten Besuch im Jahr 2020 nun das zweite Mal.
Sie haben mich eingeladen zum Auftakt ihrer neuen Staffel und ich durfte bei Folge 1 dabei sein. Die charmanten Podcaster Felix Kayser und Patrick Mai sind mit mir im Gespräch und führen mit Anekdoten und tollen Themen zu politischen Engagement und generell mehr Engagement in der Gesellschaft, meiner Eisenbahnleidenschaft, dem ESC und diversen musikalischen Themen durch.

Passend zum Frauentag am 8. März, der ein politischer Kampftag und hier in Berlin auch mittlerweile Feiertag ist und an die bisherigen Errungenschaften und vor allem an die Unterdrückung der Frau und die Frauenrechtsbewegung vor 100 Jahren erinnert, geht es natürlich auch um Musik, Klavier spielen und mein neues Album „Indecision“, welches erst im Januar 2024 erschien.

Auch ein kleines Medley habe ich mitgebracht. Wie könnte es prädestinierter sein, an so einem wichtigen Tag mit „Flowers“ von @MileyCyrus anzufangen. Ein Song voller Frauenpower. 👈🏼😊

In West Germany’s former capital city Bonn, where Beethoven was born, I met also amazing and very talented Vitalij Jakowlew | @vitality.piano. Who is now a good friend of mine. 😊

At the same day, when I played with beautiful Luana in the previous video, I played also with him, especially some songs of crazy dude @Usher! Who had a great influence on our youth. Maybe you know it… he will be seen soon at the @NFLSuperBowlLVIII2024 in the half-time show. 🏟 🏈

I’m playing a piano version of the Spanish world hit „Hijo de la Luna“ by Mecano. Loona had a No. 1 hit in Germany with this song back in the 90’s. This video was taken during my studio session at Emil Berliner Studios where I recorded a lot of songs for my new album „Indecision“.
