Lyrisch geht es in dem Track um Freunde, die in dein Leben kommen, und gehen, und dann in keiner bestimmten Reihenfolge wieder auftauchen, als wären sie nie weg gewesen – was eine schöne Sache ist. Jean-Claude Juncker tritt in einem Cameo auf, ebenso wie die unterbezahlten jungen Volksarbeiter überall. Er ist ein kompromissloser Rockklassiker.
„Like most of the songs from our second LP Afternoon Sass, Everyone You Know was composed on acoustic guitar. Our original intention was that we’d record it this way and have it as an acoustic track on the album. This was one of about three new songs that Tom and I put together, well before we booked recording time with recording engineer, Tom Livemore. After some edits and with Seb adding bass, we cut the track in half (* directly after this song on the LP is an instrumental track called Barnacle) turning it to a 2 min + rockabilly hit from what originally was a 6 min + acid jazz free-for-all.“
